Hey Lattaphiles! Underworld Amusements Variety Hour is back with a live audio performance of the southern gothic masterpiece Flannery O’Connor’s “Good Country People”.
Ida Slaughter performs the role of busybody Mrs. Hopewell.
Erin Cassavaugh, who you all know from her Down to the Crossroads segment on 9sense Podcast, has taken on the roles of both Mrs. Freeman and Mrs. Hopewell’s daughter one-legged Joy/Hulga.
Kevin I. Slaughter is the narrator and mastermind of this project.
I’m pretty much playing myself in the role of the Bible Salesman, Manly Pointer (entendre implied, natch.)
It’s a great story and it was a hell of a lot of fun to do.

In this day and age, Internet retardery is at an all time high. Dickheads, assholes and crumbums everywhere all have access to keyboards and alarming as it is, an audience. Now, more than ever, we need to heed this sage advice from James D. Sass.
This marks my second collaboration with Kevin I. Slaughter, Satanist extraordinaire. Or should I say, Kevin Is Laughter? Nope. I shouldn’t.
Anyway, this one sure came out pretty fuggin’ great! It kinda reminds me of those drinking saying signs you’d find at cracker barrel, or more likely, at yard sales for a nickel.
